Just started out with 3CX. I went into the costumer portal, clicken on Keys and got a license key.
It says that under Product that I got the professional key, but I dont want that.
I just want the free key to try it out. Do I have the free key now, or am I going to be charged money for this?

Hope you guys can help me out!

You will get a license for Pro which you can use for 40 days, after 40 days it will downgrade to standard license.

This is so you can test the Pro functions within 3CX

This is the free license.

Thanks you for your reply.
So, to be clear: I will NOT be charged money for using this?
Thanks in advance!

Hi @YWiegman

If you just started, you will receive a version 16 Pro key which lasts for 40 days. After the 40 days it will be downgraded to a standard key, losing the pro features. It is still a free key throughout this period.

The standard key will continue to work and eventually will be downgraded to 8 simultaneous calls down from 16.

You will not be charged for this key, it is free

Hi @JohnS_3CX

Thanks for your reply. It scared me a bit that I would be charged money for this.
Thanks for helping me so quickly :)

Have a nice day!

No problem! If you enjoy the system and like the pro features, you can enter the customer portal and upgrade your existing key.

If you have any questions I would highly recommend you start with 3CX Academy (free certification program) that teaches you everything you need to know to set up your system with prerecorded webinars. https://www.3cx.com/3cxacademy/

The phone guides are also very useful https://www.3cx.com/support/ and they can tell you how to set up supported phones in no time.

You can also post here for questions, if you still have questions after reading the guides. There is a sticky note at the top of the General forum telling you what to include in technical question posts.

I have already started with 3CX at our company. Me and a coworker are managing the portal together. The server, however, has been build by a collegue of ours. I wanted the standard license to try and build one myself.

I have started with the acadamy (finished the first course + certificate) and really like the platform.
+ the forums are really useful.

Glad to hear! A tests system is a good idea when trying things out. Always remember to run a backup on your production system before any major changes ;)

Very ambivalent answer, don't really understood which way it needed to be understood.
