Grandstream 2160 Latest Firmware

Good morning. I have updated a GXP2160 to the latest firmware, found here (https://www.3cx.com/support/phone-firmwares/), and 3cx backend is telling me the firmware is not supported. We are on the latest 3cx release. The firmware is working, but it's showing an error. Anything we can do to correct this?

If you downloaded the firmware from the site, then this is to be expected.

Your PBX is not yet aware that a new firmware was released, it still recognises 1.0.11.16 as the latest version, hence extension 102 appears not supported.

Please click on the Updates button in your 3CX management console, you will see the new firmware there ready to download and the system will become updated.

By the time you read this, this may have already happened automatically in the background so it's likely the problem has already been resolved.

You will now see ext 101 showing as out of date and you can update that phone from your management console.

1. select extension 101
2. click the +Firmware button on top
3. You should see the below, simply click OK

That is exactly what it was. I must have downloaded the firmware as soon as it was released on the website. Thanks for the help.

FYI: we recommend you use the firmware your 3CX system provides rather than the one on the manufacturers website because they might release a newer version at any point that has not yet been interop tested with 3CX.

This means that if that firmware has issues we will not be able to support you, and will recommend that you use the 3CX-tested firmware.
