My Grandstream GXP2170 phone connected through 3CX MAC provisioning looses settings each night. One of the more important ones is under Account Sip Security that accept incoming SIP from Proxy only. The reason I need this is to block an annoying phantom caller from *9924824027.
I also loose Web Service weather, but not a big deal.

Does anyone know how to keep my settings at night and stop any 3CX updates to the phone? Or register my phone and manually enter the extension details like I used to do in FREEPBX?

Thanks in advance

Hi radiowall,

Please explain your setup in more detail, is your phone connected remotely (via something like remote STUN) ? or is it on - premise to a local system ?

I would seriously look at changing your security settings, if you are getting phantom calls there is a high likely-hood that you might be getting hacking attempts - lock down your firewall for a start.

Thank you eddvy123 my set up is a local up to date Linux install running in Hyper-V. I have tried both ports open and ports closed the ringing continue regardless. (Minus port 5001 which I have always left open). These phantom calls are not being registered through 3CX and go directly to a Grandstream phone line still on EXT100.

If I can just accept from incoming SIP proxy only then the 2am calls can stop :) I see some people talk about customized templates. Would be nice to change the weather information on the phone as well if I could make it stick.

Hello @radiowall

Please note that phones get re-provisioned every 24 hours by the PBX to apply any changes that were made during the day. Anything that is not included in the 3CX configuration will be lost.
To keep your settings you will either have to manually register the phone to the PBX or use a custom template. Note that non of these options are supported by 3CX so if you face any issues you will need to revert to the default template before requesting support.

Thank you both. All resolved with a custom template.

Glad to see the issue has been resolved
