Hi 3CX.

We are running the latest version of 3CX, template and firmware for the Grandstream GPX 2170/2140.

When we attempt a transfer there is now only a blindTrnf button where previously there was a button called transfer that would do an attended transfer.

Is this a bug or is attended transfer going away?

Regards, Yon

There was a change made to the Grandstream template and this looks like a regression in the latest template. Is it possible to get this fixed?

Grandstream.ph.xml version 75245 (working version):
Code:
    <!-- Attended Transfer Mode. 0 - Static, 1 - Dynamic. Default is 0 -->
    <!-- Number: 0, 1 -->
    <!-- Mandatory -->
    <P1376>1</P1376>

Grandstream.ph.xml version 78103 (broken version)
Code:
    <!-- Attended Transfer Mode. 0 - Static, 1 - Dynamic. Default is 0 -->
    <!-- Number: 0, 1 -->
    <!-- Mandatory -->
    <P1376>0</P1376>

Hello @YonNomNom

Please note that in order to perform an attended transfer you need to either use a BLF key and set the option "Select transfer method used (Blind or Attended) when you press a DSS key" to Attended transfer (This can be found under the phone provisioning tab of the extension settings) or while on a call open the second line and perform an attended transfer that way.
The option will always read Blind Transfer regardless of the option in the management console

Hi YonNomNom,
As you can see the "0" is the default value of that parameter:
<!-- Attended Transfer Mode. 0 - Static, 1 - Dynamic. Default is 0 -->
So, 3CX starts to us the default value of Grandstream phones. This is good for me, because in the new version the attended transfer using the 3CX phone in CTI mode connected to Granstream phones is working now. BTW, good catch 3CX, thanks!!!
Also, in the manual of the GXP21xx phones published by the Grandstream guys you can see the following scenario for the Attended Transfer:
1) Press an idle line key to make a new call and the active LINE will be placed on hold automatically.
2) Once the call is established, press transfer button followed by the LINE button of the held line to
transfer the call.
3) After the call is transferred, phone will display idle screen.

I tried it using the current provisioning template and it worked perfectly.
What you are requesting for is called "Auto-Attended Transfer" transfer in the same manual and even there it's mentioned that it needs to be manually enabled from the phone's GUI.
You can find that manual here: http://www.grandstream.com/sites/de...gxp2135_gxp2170_quick_user_guide_english..pdf

So, please before requesting and making some changes in the provisioning templates, have a look and check what is supported by the phone and how the phone manufacturers are suggesting to use the supported features - yes, you can fix one issue by modifying the templates, but you also can get more issue because of the same modification.

Hi @phonemaster
Yeah I have had to retrain a few receptionist today to use the Grandstream default method. It was only an issue because we put the system in a few weeks ago with the old template that had the option enable and all of a sudden it's different.
The template system is a pain because it's so limited.
1. Because there is no way to see what has changed prior to downloading the new template (No change-log) or is there?
2. You cant easily revert to the previous template.
3. There is no way to stage the roll-out of a new template to a small group of users to validate functionality.

Thanks phonemaster for your feedback. I agree that the closer 3CX runs to Grandstream defaults the better for everyone.

Regards, Yon
