Is there a way to change or setup the Grandstream GXP2160 from auto provisioning every morning and overwriting the VPK and Physical keys after i set them on the phone? I have checked the Auto 3CX Provision to No and Auto Firmware update to No as well and they still re provision every morning.... I tried using the BLF section for that extension but it doesn't do the Physical Keys only virtual. Any help or guidance would be appreciated!

Hi Randall Caudill,
This is the 3CX requirement - All supported phones are updating there configs every day.
You can disable it:
1. from the phone's UI by setting the Automatic Update to No

Please be noted that the next manual re-provision (made manually from 3CX Management Console) or phone reboot will set this value back to enabled daily.
2. you can also create the custom template where you can set the "<P194>" value to 0, but I'll not suggest to you to do this because:
a) Custom templates are not updating, so you will not have the latest template updates
b) Custom templates are not supported by 3CX Support Team, so in case of some issues they will not be able to help you.

hmmm yeah i already set both of those to no and it still updates and overrides all the BLF settings :/

Any pointers to resolve this or am I stuck re entering all the physical BLFs daily? (or get different phones but customer doesnt want that.... yet)

Randall, on the GXP-2130 the Physical keys map in 3CX management console to BLF's 11-18. I believe for the GXP-2160 they map in 3CX to BLFs 24+.

You might have to experiment with one phone and using various numbered blf's in 3cx until you get the range exactly right but rest assured you can configure the BLF's in 3CX and send it to the phones and then not have to worry about editing the phone directly and having it wiped.

The good news is that re-provisioning the phones from 3cx is super fast and you just have to re-check the phone through the web gui to make sure they came out correct.

You are referring to modifying the extension BLFs tab?

Okay great! 23 and on start the Physical keys on the GXP2160. Any way to specify wallpaper as well?

This can be closed as solved! Thanks!

Happy to help. If you want to change the wallpaper you can replace the default wallpaper file from 3cx, or you can go with a custom template and specify a different background file. Caution though both options are officially "unsupported" to do so make sure you keep a copy of the original 3cx file to put back in case you run into problems.

Windows:
C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Http\Interface\provisioning\[randompath]\logo

gxp2140.jpg is also used for the gxp2160

Glad to see the issue has been resolved
