Hello,

I've read many posts about this but have been unable to find a real solution.

Here's some background. I've got 11 GrandStream GXP-2170 phones. Working on a system where I need the phones to have the ability to dial out and receive calls from (4) different company numbers. The idea is to setup key 1 to the users extension, key 2 - company X, key 3 - company Y, key 4 - company Z, etc. I went through the hassle of setting up an extension for each user for all 4 companies and put them in the corresponding ring group, but I cannot assign more than 1 extension or line to a phone through 3CX. I cannot get them to register the other extensions by adding them to the different accounts on the phone UI either.

From what I've been reading, this setup isn't really supported by 3CX either. Any advice on whether this can be setup and configured would be great. Would prefer to keep using 3CX rather than move to Asterisk.

You could configure manually..
http://www.grandstream.com/sites/default/files/Resources/3cx_configuration_guide.pdf

But any settings (additional line) not in the default template will disappear when the set re-provisions. You could also modify the template to add the additional line keys. Then you will be using a non-standard template. Those are probably your two options, and not "3CX supported".

Technically the additional accounts would not be erased since the templates only contains P-codes for the 1st account. Any settings not set will remain on these phones, that's why we always recommend a factory reset before first provisioning.

Thank you for that link, that actually helped me get the config I needed almost complete. Just going to be a lot of work getting a custom config deployed to each phone. Fortunately there are only 11 phones and the business is pretty static.

The VPK keys do get wiped when reprovisioning. The accounts are still there, but the mapping of the key to the SIP account is gone. From what I read, this requires a modification in the XML file.

You are absolutely correct on this. VPKs get erased and the mapping. You have to use a custom templates for this.

I really wish 3CX had a better provisioning server than that. I frequently use Grandstream PBX and their ZeroConfig is not perfect but at least I can set templates and custom parameters.

You could do the initial setup of the phone thru 3CX provisioning, so that it sets up the first account, 3CX phone book etc.

Login into the phone, and remove the provisioning url - this way the phone will not update itself everyday.

Now you can setup the other three accounts manually.

Just means that any changes required will have to be done manually

Take a look at https://phonism.com/

I think this might simplify what you are trying to do by pushing provisioning off to them and you just need to get sip credentials for the extensions.
