Grandstream GXW4104 Configuration

I followed the guide to setup the GXW4104 calls are working in and out but incoming calls are just dumping to the Main Trunk Number defined in 3CX. Looking at Logs the gateway was not receiving its own telephone number. So I have POTS lines that I can't direct to specific places.

I looked at a couple of threads and found something that lead me to unconditional call forwarding within the grandstream gateway. I manually added the correct numbers and my calls now route to the correct place.

If I let the grandstream provision itself from 3CX the number I have entered in the SIP Trunk page are not pushed. I have attached images.

Should 3CX be pushing 6***455126 to the unconditional forwarding in the grandstream? If it is there is a problem and it does not do that. When I went back to letting the grandstream download the provisioning file from 3cx it defaults back to ch1:000000;ch2:000001;ch3:000002;ch4:000003;

Or should I put the 000000,000001,000002... in 3CX and in that case I don't have a record of what the incoming line actually is for each port.

I suspect I should be putting the actual number in because what happens when you have more than one gateway on a system? The numbers would be the same.

If you are trying to get each PSTN line (individual numbers) to route to a certain destination, then you should be able to achieve this with DID rules. You should be able to assign (datafill) the PSTN number against each line in the gateway. That number will then be sent to 3CX as a DID number. 3CX can then use the DID rules to route to the desired extension. If this is being over-written when updated, you will probably have to modify the template, or , once configured correctly, stop the gateway from updating again.

You should be following the guide exactly as it states using the numbers configured in the template:

I'm not sure why you need to see what number was called as analog lines didn't really have that capability and by nature of where you are routing the call you should be able to figure out what number was dialed. But if you absolutely must you have two options:

- Edit the created Grandstream template and adjust the numbers.
- Use CID reformatting to change the place holder numbers to the actual line numbers.

Haven't actually done either of those but they *should* work for your scenario.

And you will see.. "The UserID is where you enter your PSTN phone number plugged into the FXO ports. The UserID is sent to 3CX as the DID of the FXO port that is sending the INVITE message. The 3CX SIP trunk DIDs must match the GXW's UserID so the call can be accepted."

You just add the DID's 000000, 000001, 000002 and 000003 to 3CX and they route them accordingly. They line up to ports 1,2,3 and 4 on the gateway. So whatever line you plug into each ports assign the routing accordingly with inbound rules in 3CX.

True, you can use any number for the DID, as long as it matches a rule, but it's easier keeping track of things if you use the real PSTN number.

Thanks for the Replies. @leejor understands where I am coming from with the actual PSTN instead of just pseudo DID's. If I put the PSTN in there I know what line should be plugged into what port and I don't need to make labels to stick on everything. I can identify my incoming line, look in 3CX quickly and say that belongs plugged in to port 2. With the pseudo numbers It is more work to determine what line should be plugged into what port.

So what I am getting out of this is 3CX will automatically provision this device for a simple setup with one gateway but I am probably better off just setting up all my trunks manually.

I understand that the Gateway and 3CX need to match to properly route the calls. What I don't understand is why when you put the numbers in 3CX it doesn't insert the numbers into the template for the supported gateway. Just saying it should. I shouldn't have to create a custom template.
