Grandstream GXW4104 PSTN Gateway with 3CX Google Cloud Engine

If I setup SBC in my LAN, will 3CX installed in Google Cloud Engine find Grandstream GXW4104 installed in my LAN?
Do I need to open ports?

I am concerned about this setup eg. the delay since my IP phones data have to travel to 3CX Google Cloud then back to Grandstream GXW4104 to make/receive call.
Anyone done similar setup?
Was there audio issues with this setup?
What other issues should I be concerned about with this setup?

This device is only supported on local LAN (VPN included).

It won't work in STUN or with a SBC.

You could use VPN, and, some users have reported getting some gateways working, remote to the server. Do a search of the forum, or Google.

Yes, I have with Patton, just a slight alteration to the provisioning template, Grandstream I all I know is that the provisioning template is in binary format (slight exaggeration) but valutes if I recall are in 0's and 1's and can be hard to follow.

You could point the registrar to the SBC in the GUI however as I believe Grandstream support this.

Which Patton model do you recommend?
Is it also worth the hassle?, my concern is audio delay having data travel from Patton to 3CX cloud then back to office IP phones.
Is there a single port Patton model that I can use for fax machine? Patton seems expensive that is why I looked at Grandstream.

Really the answer is to ditch the analog lines and move to SIP trunks. None of the analog gateways are officially supported via STUN/SBC (although folks have gotten them to work) so the only recommended path is to setup a VPN between 3CX and your site which typically has an additional monthly cost. Add in your concerns about latency and it really does't make sense to set things up this way.

These are the latest round of supported Pattons for 3CX (Trinity) SN 4970A, 4171, 4131, 4141 FXO, 4141 FXS

The 4141 range are what you want for FXO and/or FXS (NOTE: combi units are not supported) there is a single port Patton gateway SN102 (and legacy MATA) but I would not recommend them for FAX only the 2 port gateway.

If you are needing FAX I would recommend simply using an online service as unless you are using the device in the local LAN or across a VPN the increase in conversions would add delay, latency and thus increase the chance of FAX's failing.

If you can move to SIP always the better option, although I still do enjoy working with Patton's they are very good units.

No SN4141 JS (FXS) this is the one I have tested with 3CX with success, new templates available with SP3 release next month also. https://www.patton.com/voip-gateway/sn4140/

The SN102 I have used but did not find it very FAX friendly (this is only from my personal experience) but it is said to be FAX compliant.

Has anyone used Cisco SPA 112 with FAX?
Is it reliable and trouble free?
I am planning to set it up with standalone SIP account, not connected to PBX

If you plan on using it with a standalone SIP trunk I'd recommend using whatever your SIP trunk provider recommends.

It may very well work, with no, or few issues. There are a number of variables however. If all of the ATA settings are correct, and the VoIP provider supports T.38 Fax, and your ISP/Network doesn't cause any issues, you should be OK.
