Grandstream gxw4108 green but not working

Hi,
Currently the server is just setup and local phones are working perfectly with ouch other on the same lan, but cuz of issues with firewall i couldn't get the firewall check to pass.

Any way right now I need to work locally. But the grandstream gateway wouldn't forward the calls to the extensions mentioned on inbound rules on 3cx.

I followed all instructions and all is ok and the sip trunk gateway is green on 3cx..

What could be the problem?

This is what I configured on 3cx server DID, should I edit any thing on the gateway other than the instructions that 3cx put on the website?

What if I should have put the landline number? Where should I configure on the gateway side?

should I have connected the WAN port to the network too?

So the firewall check passes and can use extensions remotely?

On a PSTN gateway, you can used DID numbers to direct lines to particular extensions. DID information is not sent over PSTN, so you'd have to tell the gateway to send a number with each line, usually the same as the PSTN phone number associated with each. That can then be used with the DID rules.

If there are two connections, then only one should be used. Many devices that have a WAN and LAN port also provide a router or firewall function. Check the 3CX Activity Log for an incoming call, that may point you in the right direction.

Ok but what about internal extensions, I want site A to contact site B, site A has the server and internet, site B has the client with internet.

Site A has static public IP.

When A calls B, B answers but there is no sound cuz firewall is blocking the audio ports.

So might the solution be that we connect the port WAN on the gateway to the network?


Can't do it now cuz I'm out of the city but I am trying to get some solutions to try when I get back.

Please note that you are using GXW4108 which is not officially supported, only GXW4104 is currently supported, but I would start with the above link as a guideline at least.

The gateway is going to have to be at the same location as the 3CX server, (if that is not the case currently), or you are going to have major issues trying to get it to work, it it ever does. Altough you could use VPN. Whichever location has the PSTN lines, should have the 3CX server, then the other location can have an SBC connected to that server
