Grandstream Handytones and DTMF digits for attached analog phones?

I'm trying to get an analog phone attached to a handytone to do DTMF transfers. for example, *01 to park in slot 1 or *11 to pickup. Seems that the ATA doesn't handle this well. Anyone figured out a trick?

Most ATAs require a "flash", you then get dialtone, then then enter the "short code". The codes can usually be defined, in a table, in the device. It all depends on how the device interprets the star code, and if that is changeable.

Any suggestions on the handytone? It's configured for a dialplan that includes *x+

I have hook flash enabled and send flash as DTMF disabled.

while on a call, I hit flash which gets me a dialtone. I dial *01# to park the call on orbit one. System answers 'call forbidden by administrator'

I thought that it wasn't taking DTMF, but if I let it sit nothing happens so it's hearing them.

flash set to 'send in dtmf'

If I set DTMF to SIP INFO, I can see the dialed digits come through as 'INFO' with Signal=<the key I pressed>

I'm getting unsupported media type responses though.

changing to rfc, I see nothing, doesn't look like anything goes through at all.

switch flash back to not send in dtmf

flash *01
initiates a new call and gets rejected, flash again brings call back.

Going back about 9 years, I realized had a similar problem with an SPA-2102 ATA. Finally figured out that it required the use of a blind transfer code before the park code. So...flash, 9801 (with *98 the blind transfer short code in the Linksys ATA). You would have to confirm the code used by the Grandstream, it may or may not be the same.

Doing a "regular" blind transfer from the same ATA is...*98201, which transfers to ext 201

@leejor, thanks. That actually solved it. On the grandstream it's 87, so <flash>87*01 parts to slot 1. *11 retrieves.

well, it 'works', but it seems that there are some numbered parking lots (0 and 1) that arent SP1 and SP2 etc.

On the switchboard it shows SP1 and SP2 parked calls with Callee = SP1/2 while these show as *0.
