Grandstream HT 801 - Cloud PBX Registration

Hi,
i have a Problem, i have a HT 801 and i want used it to connect a FAX Device.
But our PBX is in a Cloud, so how can i connect the HT 801 to the Cloud PBX???

Has Anybody any idea?

Hello @xerxes35

Please note that Gateways and ATAs are only supported for local provisioning. Specifically FAX extensions do allow for remote registrations. The best option is a VPN connection between the remote office and the phone system so the FAX extension can be registered as local.

The PBX is on the goolge cloud server, is it possible to connect it with VPN? ist there any how to from 3cx?

ore is any other solution to send a FAX? Reciving is not the problem, the 3cx has a build in fax server. but sending is the problem.

If you try to get FAX working with STUN or SBC 3CX will literally refuse and throw up an error (something about local LAN or routed subnet).

You can do VPN from Google cloud but it is an added feature and will come with a cost.

This however is your only option other than moving to an online FAX service (I guess it depends how crucial onsite FAX is to your customer).

You can configure the HT801 as a regular extension and send faxes that way but it will be G.711 only.

Yes Google Cloud supports VPN. You'll have to Google how to setup a VPN between Google Cloud and your firewall/router as this is outside the scope of 3CX. Otherwise there are many eFax services. We only use ATAs for customers with minimal outbound faxing needs. If they have any real faxing needs we either setup email-to-fax or use a HTTPS fax ATA off our our UCaaS platform.
