I have a grandstream HT801 setup for a fax line which has it's own DID going directly to the Fax Extension of 880. Incoming calls seem to be fine as the fax machine answers and receives the faxes but out going faxes always return as busy. We hooked a regular old landline phone to the HT801 and tried to dial out and also got a busy signal. I'm wondering if I don't have something setup right but all of the other 10 phones can dial out and can receive.

In my phones section, I have this

and in the FXS section, it shows the Grandstream and I have assigned it to extension 880.

Am I missing something here?

Troubleshooting starts with logging. Set your activity log to verbose, make an outgoing call/fax and then check the log to see why you are getting a busy signal. Most likely/obvious answer would be the call not matching your outbound rules.

Agreed, 880 should be able to make calls so long as your outbound rules allow it.

You can use it to dial any internal extension, just to verify you have the basic ability to make calls.
