So i've managed to get my HT801 appliance to work with outbound faxes from a Sharp MFP sucessfully, and now i'm trying to get inbound faxes to work in the 3cx cloud. Do I need to make up a specific rule to allow this?

How I got the outbound to work was making a regular extension, and I can inbound dial to the fax machine but it calls and hangs up and never responds. Any suggestions would be greatly appeciated on this, as I know its not really supported...but i'm halfway there to make it working.

Does the fax machine actually answer the call? You would require an inbound rule to direct the call to the extension. Have you checked the 3CX Activity Logs for any clues as to what might be happening? Compare the "handshake" on an outbound call, that works, with an incoming call. Wireshark may also be helpful. Are you set to use T.38, specific Codecs, etc.?
