Grandstream HT802 Freezes... 4/15/2019 firmware fixes bug

My Grandstream telephone adapter was giving me problems with freezing.

I just upgraded my firmware, and in the release notes for FIRMWARE VERSION 1.0.11.6 dated 4/15/2019 it lists the following bug fix:

• Fixed device freeze after few hours.


So, if your device is freezing, try updating the firmware, given that a known bug has been fixed.

You should be using the latest firmware, which is 1.0.13.7 for the HT802.
This is laid out on the 3CX setup guide as well.

You are correct, @SweetAction that the setup guide states to upgrade to the latest firmware. In my case, I installed my ATA adapter a couple of years ago, so I was on the latest firmware at the time, and even updated once.

So, I thought I'd post about the bug fix for the ATA freezing, just in case it helps anyone else out.

That's actually interesting. Does the 3CX MC prompt you that it is out of date / put it in RED?

3CX provisions the firmware URL, so I'd assume they do checks, but am unsure. If they don't, 3CX should.

I don't know because my configuration is unsupported.

I run my server in the cloud, and my phones are on-premises behind a firewall. I realize that a VPN is the preferred setup. When I first configured my server I don't think this was the case, but I am considering moving to AWS, and if I do, I will add a VPN connection.

I should add that 3CX has done a really nice job in evolving the product and adding new features and more supported configurations.

No 3CX ignore firmware level about ATA and gateway, you need to do this manually
