GXP21xx Opus Support

The GXP21xx phones support OPUS, but it's not an available codec to select when provisioning the phone through 3CX. Funny enough, the GXP26xx series is identical with its' config and DOES have the OPUS codec available to select through 3CX.

Can the OPUS option be added to the GXP21xx phones so I can have all my phones use OPUS, that would be amazing for my users.

Hello,

The GXP and GRP series use a different templates.

There are devices in the GXP series that do no have Opus, hence there are no plans for the moment to add Opus in that series template.

We do not recommend it, but you could potentially make your own custom templates if you wish to enable it.

It looks like only the GXP16xx series does not support OPUS, couldn't that be moved to its' own template to support the newer features of the newer GXP phones?

Would this ever happen if the GXP16xx is declared EOL?

If/when the GXP16xx becomes EOL and if/when we to move them to a different template, then yes, then it would be possible.
There are too many hypotheticals though, so for the foreseeable future, this is not in our immediate plans.
