I have 1 Yealink T23G that I am not able to connect to the web UI, so I reset to factory defaults. But when the phone powers up on the network it runs through some configuration and the language switches to French and the default password doesn't work. I have deleted this phone from the extension it was previously assigned to and I have never used French as part of my setup, the phone configurations are all the 3cx default templates. I also tried the password that was previously setting when it was assigned to an extension.

If I factory reset the phone off of the network the language stays at English and the default password works properly.

So my question is where is it getting the French language from and a different password?

Sounds like the network has some DHCP options pointing the phone to a configuration server.

Agree with @cobaltit when I read this, sounds like it is pointing to a configuration server. Where did you buy this phone ? ebay possibly ?

You maybe able to send the MAC address over to Yealink as it maybe using the RPS server and have it removed.

So the phone did the exact same thing at home once it was connected to the internet, I've contacted Yealink with the MAC address to look into it more.

The weird thing is I didn't have any of these issues when I first provisioned the phone about 8 months ago.

Could be someone fat fingered the MAC address putting in in RPS and hijacked your phone.

Thats a really good point. We have a couple of times had people incorrectly entering MAC addresses into the RPS server - its not as un-common as you would think.

Hi @CdnNick

The fact that it worked in the past is largely irrelevant. What you described will usually happen when the above mentioned cases are true (RPS or DHCP Option 66).

Yealink should be able to help you by removing it from their RPS. If not, there may be a couple of other ways you can get around it. Let us know how it goes in case you are not able to make any progress

Just a quick update.

It does look like someone entered my MAC address by accident, the RPS info Yealink supplied me is not any of my info. I'm just waiting on them to remove that info so I can provision my phone.

Glad to hear it was confirmed at least :)

Hope they get back to you soon

All fixed up now, what a pain in the butt that was.
