I have a new 3cx hosted deployment using Yealink T54W's. The client would like incoming calls to ring a call group (after being sent from a Digital Receptionist). They would like caller ID from that incoming call to show correctly except on 1 common area phone. That phone, they would like either the call to show "incoming call" or nothing at all. I've tried custom templates, and have not been able to get it to work. Custom templates were able to remove the call history from that specific phone. Any suggestions on how to get this accomplished? I don't want to use a analog phone with ATA... I'd like the solution to use the T54W or other desk/router phone. We don't want to use a wireless handset, as it would likely get misplaced. thanks!

working with copilot got me to this conclusion:
Template vs Actual Phone Config

The custom template contains:

features.hide_caller_id.enable = 1
phone_setting.called_party_info_display.enable = 0
features.call_log_show_num = 0

The actual exported phone config contains:

features.missed_call_popup.enable = 0
features.save_call_history = 0
phone_setting.call_info_display_method = 1

but does not contain:

features.hide_caller_id.enable = 1
phone_setting.called_party_info_display.enable = 0
features.call_log_show_num = 0

Conclusion

The phone is not receiving the critical caller-ID hiding settings from the template.

Some of the customizations are making it to the phone:

features.save_call_history = 0
features.missed_call_popup.enable = 0
phone_setting.call_info_display_method = 1

are present in the exported config.

So this is not a general provisioning failure.

Hello,

On the common-area T54W’s dedicated custom template, try changing:

phone_setting.call_info_display_method = 5
