Hi,
We are noticing that the swap file usage on our 3CX is growing at at very consistent rate and is not being released by 3CX. While the memory usage has been consistent at approx. 30%.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issues?

Based on the running processes the main offenders seem to be:

Owner Size Command
phonesystem 362.87 MiB /usr/lib/3cxpbx/3CXManagementConsole --pid /var/run/phonesystem/3CXPhoneSystemMC ...
phonesystem 339.22 MiB /usr/lib/3cxpbx/3cxSystemService -p /var/run/phonesystem/3CXSystemService01.pid ...
postgres 143.76 MiB postgres: 11/main: phonesystem database_single 127.0.0.1(45054) idle
postgres 143.23 MiB postgres: 11/main: phonesystem database_single 127.0.0.1(53770) idle

It doesn't sound like you are having any issues so I wouldn't worry about. I honestly have no idea what swap usage looks like on the many instances we manage because they aren't having a problem. Keep in mind that memory management is handled by the OS and not 3CX. Provided you installed from the ISO and haven't installed anything else on the instance you shouldn't have any issues.

The image was installed off the 3CX ISO and when the swap file was initially set up (by the installer. I have tested the installer a number of times and it seems to create the swap file as HALF the physical memory rather than double), it was created as 1 gig. When it was this size the swap-file usage would increase to about 90% then we had to reboot the server to get the swap back.

We manually increased the swap file to 12 gig (IE Double the physical memory), and usage is still increasing. I am aware that the OS is responsible for the memory management, but it looks like the 3CX software is not permitting the swap memory to be released.

I know in the early version of 18 there was a memory leak (That took a couple of patches to fix) and I am trying to find out it this might be related.
