Solved Hold Music playing for a fraction of a second as calls are forwarded automatically through pbx

We want all voicemails to go to a single voicemailbox for processing but we also want different messages at different times of day and different days of the year etc.

I have achieved this with a Call Flow Designer which plays the messages and then forwards the call to the voicemailbox of a dummy extension setup just for that purpose.

This is working fine.

However... As the call reaches the end of the time out of a ring group for instance and is forwarded to the CFD and again once the message has played and the call is forwarded to the voicemailbox there are two snippets of audio that are played for a fraction of a second each. I'm assuming this is the hold music.

Its definitely not a pleasing experience for the caller to hear these snippets of audio and even could be mistaken as the tone to indicate they should start speaking for the message (resulting in missed first word etc)

I feel like this is a bug ???

What you could do is offset your music on hold by 300 milliseconds or whatever you feel is appropriate, adding silence before the music starts. This way they won't hear anything.

I've found underspecced machines cause this to be heard.

Yes this is what I've done. Had to produce a 5 min long string of the 20 sec audio loop that we had as my OCD wouldn't let there be a silent gap every 20 seconds.

This however feels like a workaround rather than the correct solution.

3cx shouldnt attempt to play hold music unless a transfer takes longer than a second or similar.

I don't think that's the case here. My PBX is a VM on a host with plenty of cpu and ram at its disposal.
