Hi All!

As an individual user, I was able to build a raspberry pie, install 3CX add my VOIP provider and get a bunch of IP phones in my house going without issue. I then started to wonder would there be a way to add some IP phones at my vacation home?

My house with the 3CX setup has a Static IP if that makes a difference.

Before I go and buy more IP phones, I want to be sure that it is even possible and how would I go about it? Provision them at my current home and then take them with me or would I need another raspberry pie at that location?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated

Hey Dan,

When it comes to this, there is basically 3 different ways to go about this.

1. Setup another Raspberry Pi as an SBC which will connect back to your 3CX server.
3CX SBC Configuration

2. Create a VPN between your home and vacation home if your network devices, such as your modem or routers, allow VPNs to be created. For this you'll have to look into on your own however this should help point you in the right direction
Firewall Configurations for 3CX

3. Setup your phones in STUN mode. Configuring IP Phones
This may require a bit more configuration depending on the model of phones. So just search a little on the forums or 3CX website and you should on your way.

Why not running without any install , on vacation location use old smartphones with app connected wifi ?

@aws2p Absolutely! With the web client and smartphone app, a wireless or Bluetooth headset would work wonderfully while enjoying your vacation home.
