Dear all,
I have a weird problem when phoning via my 3cx-Softphone on Windows 10:
The person on the other side of the line (does not matter if 3cx/internal or mobile/landline/voip) hears my voice in an incredibly metallic sound. My voice crackles and is cutoff often.
In worst cases, you can hear a metallic "musical scale" (first ascending, then descending) when nobody is speaking.
At first, I thought it was our hardware environment (Wifi, DSL too slow, 3cx on-premise overloaded, ...), but then we found out that it only(!) occured using the Windows softphone.
Using the 3cx Webclient at exactly the same configuration has perfect sound quality, and the smartphone app also sounds excellent.
(However, I still restrain using both of them due to my problems with headset button call answering; I made separate threads for this issue in the adequate sections of this forum)
The Codec order is: G722, G711-A, G711-U, GSM, G729.
Always when I consulted Wireshark, the Codec G722 was used (which, again, was fine with the web/mobile client).
Do you have any idea what could be the problem with the 3cx Windows Softphone client?
Thank you very much!
