This is my first time posting on a 3CX forum, so appologies in advance if I have missed a step, if this question has been asked and I didn't find it in my search, or or if I hit the wrong forum topic. We are running version 15 at 6 or 7 hotels and ran into an issue a week or so ago. I would like to understand if this is a limitation, or if there is something we can do to work around the issue.

We recently arrived to work to a screen full of messages from one of our sites that said that we have exceeded our Sim. Call license limit. That was odd because we rarely, if ever use more than 25% of our limit. Investigating the cause, which all occured at 0545 hrs, we found that a hotel group had all set a Wake-up call that day at the same time; 5:45AM. The number of hotel guests were greater than my Sim. Call allows.

First question is it this expected behavior?

Is there a recommended way to prevent this problem? Perhaps have the system skew the exact time the calls are made when say, you exceed 50% of SC license?

If such a problem were to be unavoidable, what sort of notification can the system make to Front Desk to alert them to manually make the WU calls?

Would like to get more hotels, but this is holding things up.

Yes surely if you have groups with same time wake-up calls it's normal you reach your SC limit.

There's no preventive warning, you can only use notifications to send a mail with the limit reached but with no other details on who receive the call and who not.

notifications are in CM , Settings, Email, notifications, you can use several email separate with commas
in events check what you need to know

Perhaps a simple way to fix this is when you have groups that exceed the capacity of your license, the receptionist should set the alarms with a few minutes decallage not to reproduce this problem

I would expect the system to handle this and only place x calls at once - perhaps a small fraction of available licenses to keep lines open for regular calls.
Definitly a good enhancement option here.

It should be limited exactly the way that there are limits for system paging. It is not as iff these Wakeup calls are leaving the building. Or if they were, only then count a call against the SC limit.

At a minimum, a Wake-up service should be smart enough to know the call did not get answered, and retry some number of times, then notify the Front Desk. There is a Notify function associated with WU calls that don't get answered, but I don't know if it works in the case aof a SC limitation.

I wouldn't call this a feature or enhancement so much as a fix. I caught a thread dating back on an earlier release (12?), so I would think if they were going to fix this, it would have happened. A shame because it will limit our deployments into hotels on this platform.

It is probably not that often that this happens, but agree, wake-up calls should not be counted against the licence. There should be a simple software fix for this. There could be hell to pay if a guest missed a flight because of this.
