Forum,

1. Does 3CX v18 or later provide an embedded softphone or dialer inside the Microsoft Teams client, without Direct Routing? If not, is it on the roadmap, and with what timeline?
2. If the only supported path is Direct Routing, what Microsoft licenses (Teams Phone Standard, Calling Plan) and SBC are required per user?
3. Can 3CX be configured so that Teams users have full call control (answer, hold, transfer) from within the Teams client?

Hi @Rafael da Costa please note that if you want to integrate MS Teams with 3CX, then you have to do it via direct routing following the steps outlined in this guide.

You have to assign to the MS365 users one of the licenses below:
  • Microsoft 365 E1/E3/E5/A5
  • Microsoft 365 Plan + Microsoft Phone System (add-on) or Business Voice (add-on)
  • Please check with Microsoft for latest Teams licensing rules since it differs per region.
Once you make the Teams Integration via Direct Routing, the users can use the teams application, it will connect to the 3CX as another endpoint for making and receiving calls, etc.

Note that the Teams Integration for Direct Routing needs an AI 16SC+ subscription.

Have a good day!

Alejandro,

i appreciated your fast reply.

Will 3CX behave as SBC between Microsoft Teams?
