Hosted PBX and my Raspberry Pi Host

Well I believe my hosted site is finally up. I was told by the SIP company that both numbers have been ported. However, the hosted site is showing a status of RED... Now I still have my home-based PBX up and running. The question is when do I know to turn off the raspberry Pi since my numbers are active? To me the home system would not work if the numbers were ported since they would not function for the Ahoy Telecom SIP trunking company I am using for the home system. So you can see my dilemma. I need to understand if I turn off my home based system now will the hosted one go to green and start to work. I will shutdown my Raspberry Pi now to test... but I have to confirm the hosted site is ready to go.

If they are both using the same license key (?) they will fight for activation. If you call your number you can tell from the logs which PBX answers, which will indicate the number has/has not ported. Once the number ports shut off the old one, and probably restarting services on the new would be the fastest way to get it active. Or maybe just Refresh License Key on the license key page.

Well now I cannot log into the hosted site. It is just spinning. I did the upgrade and now I cannot access it.

Hello @texmansru47,

Did you upload a backup while creating the Hosted machine? Does it have the same configuration with the on Premises one?

From what I can see from our records you have 2 machines running at the same time. One Hosted with 3CX and the other one is on Premises.
At a point you need to stop the on Premises machine because is going to cause problems.
(basically every time the on Premises machine restarts it will force the FQDN to point to that machine and as a result you are going to have service interruption, call drops etc. )
As I checked now the Hosted Machine is up and running but your FQDN is pointing to your on Premise machine.

Also note that the port you need to use to access your Hosted machine is 443 and is different from the one that you are using to access the on Premises machine, maybe this is the reason you cannot login.

Bare in mind that the 2 machines may have different Login credentials.
(You can reset your login credential by putting the correct username and wrong password twice - it will prompt you with a Link to reset your password).

In order to force your FQDN to point to the Hosted machine as @SteveITS mentioned you need to:
a) Stop the on Premises machine.
b) Access your Hosted machine using the IP (PM me if you don't know the IP of the Hosted machine).
c) Restart the Services.

(Also note that raspberry Pi is no longer supported for PBX installation - only for SBC).

I don't know the IP for the hosted machine. Do you mean restart the on-premise machine when you say restart the services? I am tad lost there.

Also I am down. No phones. I have the SBC up and linked to the Hosted site. I don't think my numbers have been ported. If I can get the IP for the hosted site I will try to bring it up since the FQDN is failing. It states the host is unreachable. My on-premise raspberry pi is turned off. I would like to get this working today if all possible.. even if my phones reminds down until the DID are ported. I would like to get on the hosted site.

Any help to find the hosted IP? My Raspberry Pi has been off for over 8 hours... still nothing? Any ideas?

re: restart services, no, the on premise one would stay off. Generally the last server to check in with the key/FQDN would activate it and update the FQDN. So you want one or the other running but not both.

Number porting is a different animal. It can take weeks. If possible see if the new company can give you a temporary number, and have the old company forward calls to the new number. That will get you calls until the number ports.

I just reached out to him since I overlooked writing him earlier. I got word that the porting of my DIDs are scheduled for Monday so that is not too bad.

I have sent you a private message to access the Hosted machine using the IP address.
As per @SteveITS said restart the services on the 3CX Hosted site to force the FQDN to point to the Hosted server.
