How do templates actually work?

Hey All,

Searched the forums and Google but couldn't quite find the answer.

Does anyone know how exactly provisioning templates work?

We're assuming 3CX uses the template to dynamically build the .cfg file which is then applied to the deskphone.

Is that about right?

Within Management Console - Phones - select a extension, and click on Config tab - it will show you the cfg pushed out to the phone

Yes configuration files are being build on the fly based on the template used for each device. You can see phone templates by navigating to Settings / Templates
