so I was going to inquiry about this a while ago anyone who applies I really appreciate it. I actually was able to set it up in the test server that I’m using right now on 3CX. it’s weird though. It says it’s granted access but I also want to make sure I was configuring it correctly and making use of it. Is there any specific articles that anybody knows about? I’ve been trying to search through all these different menus and articles that would give better detail even maybe see a video demoing how it works on YouTube or other sources of platforms please let me know if anything is out there that you know that could show me how this works or have it demonstrated thank you

Hi @ty78523

At first, you enable this under the options tab of an extension and set a time limit. After this setting is enabled, the extension will not be able to make outbound calls, unless they call the pin protect IVR and enter their Voicemail PIN. This will then grant them access to make outbound calls, for the duration that you have set when you enabled this option.

For example if you have enabled this option for 30 seconds, the user will have 30 seconds to make outbound calls after they have entered their pin number.

show essentially when you dial the number, it would allow you after the IVR system says access granted I can dial out a phone number automatically without any other steps is that correct as long as the IVR says granted when you entered it incorrectly now what about if you wanted to disable certain extensions from outbound calling because if they have a voice pin, they can get granted access do you have a way to disable in the options that you described?

As soon as you call 777 the IVR will inform you to enter the PIN. After you enter the PIN the IVR will inform you that access has been granted. After that, you have the amount of time you have configured when you enabled this option to make as many outbound calls as possible. As soon as this timer runs out you need to do the same proccess again.

Let’s say I don’t wanna have another extension such as 103 not having outbound call access how do I make sure they don’t have access to that

If you do not want the extension to have the option to make any outbound calls at all then enable the option " Disable External Calls" in the options tab of the extension.

oh, OK. So when that’s disabled they can’t enter a valid pin with their voicemail. Got it. Thank you so much for the help.
