How to Downgrade a Lincese

Hello Team,

currently I have a setup of 3CX with 32 SIM though we have a need to downgrade the license to 16 SIM kindly advise if this is possible.

More so if the above is not possible can I restores a backup of a 32 SIM in a licences of 16 SIM calls.

What am trying to avoid not to loose data in the 32 SIM license while moving to a 16 SIM setup and i don't want to have two sources of data.

If you have a perpetual license it can’t be downgraded directly.

The simplest is to purchase a new 16sc key and use the change license key feature in the license section of your 3CX management console. This will simply switch your configuration and fqdn to the new key.

You could also do it as a backup and restore where you make the backup without the fqdn and license and then unbind your fqdn and then restore and put in new key and your fqdn again but that is unnecessary with the newer change key function in 3CX.

I would recommend contacting your reseller to see if downgrading of the existing key is possible. If not you can replace the key through the management console as mentioned by @CentrexJ and your FQDN will be transferred to the new key automatically(if the new key is not assigned to an FQDN)
