How to mute the ring tone of an incoming call on 3CX desktop client

My boss just asked me if I can mute the ring of the desktop client on his PC when calls come in. He keeps his volume rather high (for other reasons not worth mentioning) and when a call comes in, it makes him jump a bit. The goal is to mute the 3CX client without muting all of the PC's audio. Anyone got any quick tips?

Hi,

The 3CX Softphone on a the desktop simply plays a Wav file for its ring tone.

On Windows, navigate to

C:\ProgramData\3CXPhone for Windows\PhoneApp\Sounds\

And delete or rename 'ringtone.wav'

This will cause the 3CX Softphone to play nothing when the phone rings.

(You can also place any other wav file in that location if you wish to change the ring tone for something more appropriate).
