How to Ring all Group but only have sound on some

Hi Guys,

I have created a ring group for all incoming calls to be picked up by any phone in that group by lifting the handset. However, I only want the sound to be on 3 principal phones not all the phones. Then the other phones will show the call coming in but not sound. Can some one point out where this is.

Best bet is 2 ring groups - one that rings the primaries 2 times, then add more phones to the group.
Or a ringer that is part of the main 3 only - and a BLF they can press to pickup the call perhaps.

There is no way to do exactly as you ask.

You can't leverage DND to do this either ? I was reading something on this too. I am using Yealink 46G and 48G phones. Do you think something on those settings might do it ?

But either way - a Ring is a Ring is a Ring. If phone is receiving a call - it will ring. Unless Volume is down.

There is no selective ringing that I am aware of.

Some sets are capable of a different ring tone, when the call is external. (there are a number of posts on the subject in the forum) https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/ring-group-ringtone.57019/

Not certain if that is that case with your sets. However even if you were set the phones to ring a very low volume (silent) ring signal, this would apply to all external calls, not just those coming from the ring group. This may cause some issues.

On Yealinks phones there is a silent ringtone. So maybe you can do something between Queue ringtone and Default ringtone in the Phone Provisioning
