Hello everyone,

I have an idiot employee at a customer's site who wanted to test MySQL database integration with 3CX v16 for windows, so he decided to download a trial version of v16 pro to his workstation without asking or notifying anyone first. 3CX phone system is already handling their phones for the entire office on the same network/domain. Luckily, we have everything routed to the correct PBX on the firewall side. But now we have an issue of having to remove 3CX from this employee's workstation. Add/Remove programs isnt allowing us to cleanly remove it.

Is there any way to cleanly uninstall 3CX from the workstation without reloading it?

Hi,

I would recommend to open the task manager, click Services tab, and sort by Description (to see
all 3CX Services on top).

Stop all the services, and note that some will need to be stopped last after the others depending on them have already stopped.

One they are all stopped (including nginx) try to uninstall again.

If this fails, unplug their computer from the network, reinstall 3CX on top, and then try to uninstall again after all the services have been stopped. His uninstaller probably froze if he did something that caused the services to hang, so this method should help. A restart also helps reset the services if they stopped responding.

You can also go to the windows main services control panel, and prevent them from starting up during windows startup. This also helps uninstall.

Revvo uninstaller.

Or a System Restore will also remove this.

So, update, the add or remove option for 3CX is gone, but the services are still in the system and running.

Hard to say what went wrong in your case, the uninstaller should only be removed from the list once it has ended gracefully or reverted any changes it tried to make if it was unsuccessful.

Try reinstalling and uninstalling again
