My phones automatically updated to .35 firmware and now don't show as 862 anymore. The older firmware which I downgraded one phone does. Tech support says .31 is supported and .35 is not, but these phones were automatically upgraded. They still work but this is not good.

I reopened the case. Will update here.

Hello @jimbo59

Please note that the .35 firmware is not available through the management console as the latest supported firmware from 3CX is .31.
The firmware for the phones is stored locally on the server before the phones are updated so you can check the version of the file provided by 3CX by searching the "firmware" and "firmware_new" folders in the random provisioning folder of the PBX.

What probably happens is that the phones are not properly provisioned and they auto update directly from HTek as the update server was not replaced in the phones to point to the PBX.

Actually I was on a special build of 3CX before SP4 and I think this may play into the problem. The phones are set to get updates from the PBX.

I am not sure how that can cause an issue with the firmware update but since you have a ticket with support they will be able to see what is happening through the PBX logs. Let us know the of the outcome

Final outcome from tech support. .json file needed replace then reboot then each phone manually update firmware. File was /var/lib/3cxpbx/Instance1/Data/Http/Interface/provisioning/whkfg5r89i4w/firmware_new/firmwares.json

Back to perfect running order as normal. Pleased with tech support.
