Hello @VOIPBIRD

As per the ticket you have opened with us:
  • The specs of the machine were below the recommended (which as you say was adjusted and over provisioned)
  • We have performed a teamviewer session where we have found that most recording directories had wrong ownership (root instead of phonesystem)
  • During the teamviewer session, you have advised that you planned on deleting a large number of recordings to see if that made a difference.
In the support ticket, you have reported that the issue persists so a few hours ago we requested a new set of files based on the adjustments made so we can continue troubleshooting.
Please provide us with the requested files in the ticket, so we can further troubleshoot the issue you are facing.

Dear Andreas
Im not blaming you, im here to see if someone has already seen this issue.
What is the recommended specs? It was on Zeon Server with 6 cores (which was showing you as 2 cores for some reason) i have upgraded it to 40 cores 80 CPUs
The ownership of files was on default, we didn't not change anything forcefully. We installed 3CX based ISO on it.
During the remote session i ask support team to please let me know what is the maximum size or numbers of recordings supported by 3cx database. they said depend on hardware if you have better hardware you can keep more recordings.
I will reply the support ticket with the requested details.
Please try to understand, we are facing a very big problem. Its a big call center please help.

Rgds

Hello @VOIPBIRD

To be clear I am not saying that you are blaming us, I was just stating what has happened in the ticket.

Regarding your questions:
  • The recommended specs can be found here: https://www.3cx.com/docs/recommended-hardware-specifications-for-3cx/
Regarding the cores, what we mentioned is what is shown from the OS system information. which is 4 cores. To check what the OS detects, you can type lscpu in SSH and check the CPU(s): field.
  • The ownership of the files was not on default. By default the PBX will store files on the OS with the user 'phonesystem' as the owner and group. In your case the owner and group was 'root'. This means that someone moved the recordings using the root user and did not change the ownership of the files and directories back to 'phonesystem'.
  • There is no maximum number of recordings that the software can handle, at least this is nowhere near the amount of recordings you have as we have seen systems with more recordings previously. How much it can handle, depends on the machine that the PBX is installed on. Processing power matters.

We are waiting for the requested files in the ticket.
