Hi there, I've noticed some of our 3cx servers don't automatically redirect to https on certain web browsers. If I had a 301 redirection, this isn't going to cause any issues with the system is it?

Care to elaborate on the browsers being used ? best to use Google Chrome in most cases if you can.

When I use chrome is directs to https. I use https everywhere anyway. But say I go to edge I can get to the unsecured page of the 3cx admin login which seems concerning. If it won't cause issues I'll just set up a 301 redirect, but I don't want to do that if it's going to break stuff

I am almost sure that phone provisioning uses port 5000 (80) to get configs, so if you put a 301 on it might stop that.... i might be wrong though

Local phones/gateways get provisioned on 5000. But they normally access the PBX via IP rather than FQDN.

Note, anything accessing the system via FQDN will only work on your HTTPS configured port anyway.

or port 80 on install you have the options of:

HTTP/HTTPS - 80/443 or 5000/5001

Reading what I read above - local devices need HTTP for provisioning.
and that Anyone going to http://mysite.com are automatically going to get https://mysite.com

But you are right about Edge not redirecting. Might be a bug @JohnS_3CX - but maybe with Edge....?
