Solved I have 2 new issues after moving to hosted service

I have moved to 3cx hosted and its been working great until some new issues popped up.

1. If I change the name of a user at an extension, it doesnt propagate to the other phones. The old user name shows even after reboots of all SBC and cloud servers.

2. I had made changes to the dialplan so that when a user hits a BLF it would inject a *9 for intercom. its slowly removing itself out of each phone. its reverting to the default dial plan.

With all that..
1: how do I fix this so that it works?

2: Is there a way to make the BLFs call intercom instead of ringing the phone at that assigned BLF? My dialplan (like I mentioned) injected *9 and worked great for years..

2. Ensure permissions are set and dial codes are correct then try using a BLF key set to custom speed dial.

BLF menu is a drop down for extension selection, there is no option to type anything in - Where have you been preprogramming *9

also, I just tried adding a Custom button and even after reboot the phone doesnt show it.. I have the provisioning set to local and using the sbc ip as the interface, Ive also tried setting the SBC (remote) and same behavior.

1. You need to reprovision the phones so they can download the updated phonebook. Some phones may not download the phonebook after a reprovision though and will update once every 24 hours.
2. Once the phone reprovisions custom configuration will be lost.

Since you cannot have custom templates in the hosted environment you will need to proceed with custom blfs

yes, a custome template where I modified the dialplan to auto add *9

custom blf's remove the status indicator, yes? also, what provisioning method is required with an SBC inside the firewall with the phones? Ive tried them all and no differnce

yea.. I just tested and we lose BLF indicator with custom BLF.. that isnt gonna work for this office.. too many older folks that dont like change LOL. older phone systems always had the option to call intercom with a button push.. and my workaround worked for 2 years by injecting the *9 into the dialplan in the files

Just host it on another provider like OVH or something instead. Or even get a Pi and install the PBX on there, stick it on site.

funny thing is, I had it hosted here.. and it was on an over kill server.. dual xeon, 64gb ram raid.. etc.. and the cloud version works better.. less dropped calls etc.. I have a Pi running the sbc at the moment

How did you have it set up previously? HyperV VM? Did you use Debian ISO? And did you install the NTP

If your 3CX is hosted you should always use the SBC. The FAQ i sent you above states that STUN provisioning is not supported in this method (Although it will work).

STUN requires more admin such as port forwarding of specific RTP and SIP ports at each phone and they all need static IPs which is more effort then its worth.

ALWAYS use SBC with a hosted 3CX.

Since your PBX is hosted and you have an SBC then you should provision the phones via the SBC method

The BLF that shows status is not the same as a programmable button that has a speed dial code.

"Reprovision" means to go to the Phones tab, check the phone(s) and click the Reprovision button. This also happens when the phones boot up.

re: how to set up phones, if the 3CX server is outside a given office/location, most use an SBC. Much less setup than STUN. If the phones are on the same network as the 3CX server nothing is needed, just plug in the phones.

It's is very easy to do what you need it to do. You just make a custom template. However custom templates are not supported on 3CX hosted so you'd have to use another hosted method.
