I have set up a generic SIP trunk and the outbound calls work fine but I am not receiving incoming calls. Wireshark does not see any invite messages from the SIP servers for any inbound calls and there are no logs either.
When I try calling from another number to the 3CX Phone system it times out with a message that no one has picked up the call. But another softphone is able to receive incoming calls with the same settings.
After going through a few other threads I have also disabled Call Source Identification. Also yes there is an inbound DID rule but the phone system is not getting the inbound calls in the first place.

I hope someone can help with this.

If the calls are not reaching the PBX then there is nothing you can do on the PBX side. If the trunk is registration based check if its registered and try again. You can also run the firewall checker to see if it passes in case you have network issues.
Either than that calls should arrive at the PBX before doing any further troubleshooting on the PBX side.

Thanks for your response. Yes, the trunk is registration based. And it also passed the firewall checker. The outgoing calls go through fine but none of the incoming calls are coming through. Should I be changing anything in the Inbound parameters because a regular softphone (MicroSIP in this case) during testing is able to receive incoming calls just fine.

Again, if the calls are not hitting the system then it does not matter what you do in the trunk settings. The first is to verify if the calls are coming to the PBX or not. Then you will need to determine what to do next.

I am currently having the same issue with a system that has worked fine until yesterday. It passes all the tests and the SIP trunks are registered.

Are the calls in your case hitting your PBX? Have you verified that?

The calls are hitting the IP, how would I know if they are hitting the PBX? every couple of hours I am getting calls through for very short periods of time

Navigate to your Dashboard / Activity Log / Settings and set the logging level to Verbose. Make another call towards the PBX and see if they show up there. If the calls are hitting the PBX there will be a log there.
You can also run a packer capture from the same location and verify that the Invite message from your provider is reaching your PBX.

There are obviously a lot of logs going on in there, which one am I looking for?
