Hello,

Last friday we changed our SIP settings in 3CX from the IP to a hostname.

Since doing this, we've found that if we have any other SIPs registered (for the purpose of dialing out to use a caller ID only), any inbound call will use this first and follow that routing despite having an inbound rule set to go to the correct place.

The solution is to delete the SIP used for dialling out and set the caller ID in the "main" SIP.

Why does this happen?

Multiple trunks of the same provider? If so, that's why. The Call Source Identification could help but not if you have the same DIDs in multiple trunks.

Are you using a 3CX Supported Provider?

Which one of the 2 templates are you using?

Its the BT WSIPT

This template is for the ip based sip trunk, do you use this template for a registration based sip trunk?

The SIP is IP based registered only that we use.

I would suggest that the configuration of the Sip Trunk follows the guidelines: https://www.3cx.com/docs/bt-wsipt-uk-sip-trunk/
There many facts that depends on the Provider and 3CX and this is how the template is provided. Since the interop tests requires to use an ip address you need to follow this.
