Customer wants to direct each call based on the MSISDN to the recognised agent for that customer.

My suggestion was a CFD that looks up their Bitrix24 for each number and returns the agent associated with that number. Costs money.

Second suggestion use inbound rules, free.

So they went for second option only to find each inbound rule has a limit. How many characters is each inbound rule limited to?

If you're referring to CID rules then the limit is 50 characters which should be more than enough for a Caller ID. Are you perhaps trying to use one CID rule for more than one CID?

Yes , the customer has about a hundred customers per agent.

Looks like you can put more then 50 as he has about 216 characters.

In that case, I'd recommend you create one CID rule, export it, and then modify the .csv file to create the rest of the rules so that you essentially end up with one separate rule per caller. You can of course also use the asterisk * to act as a wild card in case you have CIDs destined for the same agent that share common characters/numbers.

Can you check this, customer seems be able able to get over 200 characters in this field.

This may have happened due to using the import function that may have allowed the user to bypass the Web UI's field validation. I know that this may actually work, seemingly without issues, but I do recommend rectifying the configuration once you get a chance as to avoid potential issues that may arise during upgrading in the future.
