Incoming Call to SIP URI

I have an extension [email protected] configured and working. I would like to call this extension from outside 3cx. Is it possible? I am getting a 403 error. 3CX logs show Authentication failed for AuthFail Recv Req INVITE from 73.2.35.73:55768 tid=5384b9d9e30f640f Call-ID=fvuhsEEdnK_pFojpQo-hxg..:

Hi, if you are using FREE/SMB versions, to call from the PSTN to the users in the 3CX you will need a supported VoIP Provider.

If you are trying to use direct sip calls from/to external SIP URIs please note that it is a deprecated function and that only can be used with dedicated installations.

I am currently using Azure hosted 3CX PRO 4 SC.

How do I allow incoming SIP call to work?

I read this https://www.3cx.com/blog/voip-howto/direct-sip/ but couldn't figure what is causing the error.

I do not need the calls to go to [email protected]; [email protected] is okay. So, I believe I do not have to tinker with the DNS settings?

Ok, well as first step please remember to post using the correct category since you used the FREE/SMB forum.

The feature that you want to use is deprecated since introduction of webrtc/click2call, as you can see the guide is from 14 years ago.

To make such calls it's not possible from windows desktop app or webclient, you can do it for example from Yealink phones as I recall as they accept @ symbol in the dialer or through local contacts, the call is then sent directly out from the phone not from the PBX.
