Incoming calls visible across all extensions

Hi all,

We have a 9 extensions in an office, and incoming calls are forwarded to 1 physical receptionist, who then transfers the calls to the appropriate extension. I'm trying to figure out how be able to display these calls across all the extensions while only ringing on the 1 receptionist extension. Is this possible? I thought it was a BLF, but doesn't seem to do exactly what I want it to do.

When you say you want to "display" the call, what exactly do you mean. Do you want all to ring, but only one audibly?

Sorry if that was unclear, this is a question our customer asked us. On her old phone system, one of the line keys would display the incoming call but not actually ring the phone. It would only ring the receptionists phone. If she recognized the caller though, should we be able to take the line bypassing the receptionist.

Perhaps... add a second line key to all sets, but reception. Put those extensions into the same ring group as reception. Set the ring tone option, for those second line keys to something extremely quiet, or silent, depending on the set options.

Of course, this requires a custom template, and the possible "issues" that go along with doing that.

Yes, if you want to add a second line appearance to a set, then you would have to modify the template.
