Incoming calls to my cisco 7941 show both phone number and the ip of the pbx, is there a way to have it only show the CallerID and phone number they are calling from?

Hi trickyhi,

Please explain the call flow.

Is it simply calls coming in via a SIP trunk or the PSTN via a gateway?
Also are these phones local to your 3CX system or down a VPN or something like that?

Hello @trickyhi

Who is your provider and where is the PBX configured to read the calling number from? It sounds to me that your provider is using a different sip field to send the number in than the one that is specified in the PBX.
Do you have other phones that work correctly? If not try a 3CX client for a test and see if you are getting the same behaviour.

This is a local pbx, connect to a sip trunk from twillio. Incoming calls show up as [email protected] on the phone and as +11234567890:default on the 3cx softphone for windows.

The same format is shown for an incoming call from another extension on the pbx

Do you have a QoS for the VoIP? I'd suggest you implement it.

Please navigate to your trunk settings / Inbound parameters and send us a screenshot of the "Caller Number/Name Field Mapping:" settings so we can take a look at the trunk settings.
