I just uploaded and ran the install on a Vultr VPS. (latest ISO)

From their console, I ran through the steps of the text mode installer.
It goes through all the steps fine, and then just goes back to the installer prompt.

What am I doing wrong/missing?

Hi w1ve,

Please try to install the 3CX Phone System with a standard Debian 8 that the Vultr VPS provides you. May I refer you this link https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/installing-debian-linux-pbx/
Our ISO is a strip down of Debian OS and this may not be compatible with the Vultr infrastructure.

Please let us know if it works for you.

I have tried this with both the ISO as w1ve stated and can confirm it fails as well. Trying this with a standard Debian 8 ISO from the Vultr ISO library fails as well. I even tried to upload my own ISO of Debian 8 and it works but I end up with a lot of error messages when it goes to create the PBX.

Any thoughts on why this is the case?

hello @Rutger de Ruiter, thanks for your post. I tried the link you supplied but unfortunately the installation simple starts over once you think it is completed hence it fails. The only way I had success was to use a Vultr supplied ISO image from their library of Debian 8 x64. Once I did this and followed the steps outlines in the below thread I had success in creating a fully working system that was accessible via the internet.

@hanshin have you installed a PBX on Vultr before?

If you are coming back to the installer prompt you need to eject the ISO, which will reboot the VM and proceed.

He is correct. You need to break the cycle. Un mount the ISO.
