Intercom key setup on Aastra phones

Has anyone ever succeeded on setting up the intercom key to work with 3cx on Aastra phones.
I know you can dial *9 prior to the extension # but I would like to have the "intercom" key to work...
What it needs to do is to be able to hit the "icom" key and get a dial-tone then just enter the extension #.

You need to use a prefix command and not a speed dial. Not sure if that is available on the Aastras.
