Hi,

Every few days we are seeing an issue with outbound calling. When making an outbound call the call is immediately dropped. Internal calls and inbound calls continue to work

Restarting the 3CX SIP Service fixes the outbound calling

We're running out of ideas, so far we have
  • Run the firewall check - OK
  • Checked our networking setup - OK
  • Looked at the 3CX logs with the binlog viewer tool
    • We see the outbound rule being correctly determined, followed by a CDR entry with "termination_reason_details = 'no_route'"
  • Run packet capture during the fault
    • Observed no outgoing SIP Invite as we would expect
  • Our trunks look to be active during the outage and show as "Green" on the "Voice & Chat" page but we have also tried refreshing the registrations before restarting the SIP service, to no avail
  • Updated to the latest RC Version 20.0 Update 7 (Build 1019 Beta)
  • Started tracking memory, thread and CPU usage of the 3CX services but see nothing out of the ordinary
It looks like the outbound routing is failing in some way, despite the outbound rule being found and without any attempt for the call to be delivered to any of our trunks

Has anyone else seen this issue before, or have any ideas on what we could look for?

Hi Stephen,

I sent you a PM.

Have you looked the Activity Log following a failed call? "failed Route" could mean a number of things, but the Activity Log would pinpoint the issue... is there an outbound rule for the dialed number, is there a free trunk available, is the provider rejecting the call.

For anyone who might find this in the future, the issue turned out to be an intermittent network issue with resolving the providers FQDN.
