Hey people,

Forgive me i'm having to learn quick moving from a Print Tech spec to a VoIP wizard from Temu.

In my head this shouldnt work as its voice over IP but hear me out as we're quoting for new Biz.

The client wants DR, 3cx hosted has an amazing up time so no need for failover on a ENT license but if the network connectivity went down on site would they still be able to make internal EXT to EXT calls ?

if the system was installed on Prem with a failover PBX at our DC would the above still work with the SBC installed?

in my head the above would be a last resort and youd have a fail over connection to the premise.

any advise is good advise :)

If the PBX is on the same LAN as the phones and the internet went down then internal calls would work but if the connection to the pbx is lost then the phones would lose registration and become unavailable.

Just depends how far you want to go for a DR.

Do you set up hyperv replication and replicate your 3CX and do it this way?

Do you move the PBX to the cloud and have users use 3CX mobile app if the site loses connection?

you need to consider your scenarios on which is more likely.

if the network goes down, do you want to look at better switch redundancies?

How far do you take it?

Thanks buddy, thats good to know.

I echo your thoughts, which i have passed on to the sales guy.

I think his point of view he wanted to know if this would work but from my point of view Mobile apps and hosted is the best way with a dedicated back up connection to prem.

But i guess it depends on the clients needs.

Appreciate the reply thank you :)
