Hello,

I'm trying to integrate the pbx with a custom developed application.
What I'm trying to do is from the application start a call to an external number and connect it or transfer it to an extension or IVR. I also need to have a return code of the status of the call (eg. line busy).
From what I've researched I've seen that the API documentation is no longer available to the public or use third party API like voiptools. Another way I found is using CallTriggerCmd from the 3cx windows app, but I can't get any return code for managing the status of the call
Is there any other way to accomplish what I'm trying to do?

thanks

To get the status of the call, there are only a couple of options. As @edossantos mentioned, the CFD MakeCall function returns a True/False (which is not very descriptive of what happened).

The 3CX Call Control API does not return a status code from MakeCall. You would have to monitor the Connection status of the call to get the results, but you can get a more precise result for the call.

The VoIPTools API functions the same way as the 3CX API (although I have always thought we should offer an optional parameter to return a result).

Getting a result naturally takes some time because you need to wait for the call to either be answered or dropped by the carrier if not answered. Errors typically come back right away.

Hello Ernesto,
thanks for your answer, I looked into CFD but it doesn't seem to meet my requirements. I'd like to have more control from my application. For instance make a call to #123456 and if the response is busy, have the application call later.
From what I understood, with a CFD dialer I don't have this option, I provide a list of numbers and the dialer calls them one by one, without letting me know if the call was picked up or not (am I wrong about this?)
Also I think using CFD, I wouldn't be able to stop the dialer if I need and then start from the next number on the list

You have complete control on the logic of the dialer. The Make Call component will only tell you if the call was established or not, but not the cause of the failure (busy, no answer, etc.). What you can do is the following:
1) From your application, add a number to call to a database.
2) The CFD dialer can check the database and get numbers that need to be called.
3) After calling the number, the CFD app can update the database record with the status (call established or not).
4) From your app you can check this status from the database, and schedule another call attempt if needed.
