IPhone app - always waiting and keyboard obscuring dial pad

Hi all,

Every time I switch between the 3CX iPhone app and another app, or even just going back to the home screen, when I return to the 3CX app, it shows this screen (see screenshot), showing that it's waiting to connect to the network. I can't do anything with the app until it has connected again. I can't even look at the recent call history. This waiting screen gets very frustrating when switching between the app and a Web browser to copy phone numbers or for any other reason. Surely it could stay connected for more than 1 second while not immediately viewing the app?

The other issue is that when pasting a number, the keyboard obscures the dial pad, so you can't press dial. Keyboard should not even pop up as there is already a dial pad on screen.

Have you tried the system keyboard instead of SwiftKey? That sounds like a SwiftKey bug.

Hi Peter,

This is the behavior in iOS phones: The app cannot remain registered when you switch to another app, iOS policy kills the app as soon as it goes in the background unless you are in an active call, so not much can be done on that end.

As for the keyboard, this is also the default behavior on iOS. When you want to paste, it will open the whole keyboard drawer and you need to tap on "done" to make it hide again (when using the OEM keyboard at least)

thanks guys, much appreciated. Yes I can see that the keyboard issue also happens in Zoiper. This doesn't happen with the native phone app, so surely there must be a way to mimic that?

And does iOS completely kill the entire app? If it's only the connection that gets killed, it would be great if we could at least use the rest of the app (browse recent history, etc) for when you're switching between apps, checking who called, voicemail, etc. After switching back, you just have to stare at the app for 5 - 20 seconds until it registers before you can do anything at all. Can this be improved?
