Is there a way to provision fanvil phones without entering the user/pass on the phone itself?

I've tried the manual method here ( https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/manually-provision-fanvil/ ) but I can't get it to provision as it says it should. Wondering what I could possibly be doing wrong? I've tried http and https. Both when entered into a browser will download the correct .cfg file. I've even tried entering the mac.cfg into the configuration file name field and no luck.

This is on the newest v16 3cx cloud hosted working thru stun.

Is the phone on the correct firmware? You didn't mention which Fanvil phone. And HTTP doesn't work remotely so you should only be using HTTPS

If using phones in STUN mode, the supported way of doing it is by entering the user/pass as per our guides.

If this method didn't work, and pasting the link manually won't work either, I would suspect this is because the phone cannot reach the PBX to provision itself, or the TLS connection cannot be established correctly.

Since you did not give us any details about that system, it could be anything from firewall issues to certificate issues. Please tell us more about that system so we can better understand the deployment:

Attempting to use http instead of https and it still fails, doesn't that rule out certificate issues?

By default no, because http is only available for local phones (not remote STUN phones).

We still don't know what your setup is though if you want to share more info...
