We have recently enabled Zoho CRM integration for one of our clients. They are happy with the results in the service department but it is affecting other departments.

The service department is the only department that needs the CRM contact entries. The other department are now getting a contact list that is huge and populated with 3CX contacts, 3CX extensions AND the CRM entries.

Is there a way to choose what contacts show up? You would think the Group option would allow for this. Or the other way around. You go to contacts in the global admin and give permission to see certain contacts (i.e. CRM) to certain groups.

Let me know if there is an option that I am missing somewhere that changes what contacts are shown to various departments.

In the General settings of 3CX you have the option "Hide CRM Contacts from 3CX Apps Company Phonebook". If you check this option, CRM contacts will not be shown in the 3CX apps (Web Client, Chrome Extension, etc.). Contact synchronization is key for the CRM integration module, and can't be disabled.

Yes, I know this. As I said, the contacts for CRM should be a selectable context. Only sales needs the CRM list. Not HR.

Does this become a feature request?

At the moment CRM integrations are system wide. I encourage you to post the idea here. However, I don't think that this will be changed, as this is a key part of the CRM engine, and changing this would require a major re-architecture.
