Because I don't work for 3CX anymore, I can say things that an official employee cannot. Frankly, I am always shocked that someone would move a production (or important) phone system over to a early beta of 3CX and then complain when things are not working entirely as you expected...after all, isn't that the definition, purpose, and expectation of "beta" -- to get an early look at a work in progress?
It is fair to report issues and discuss challenges, and even offer some ideas for improvements, but to be "quite unhappy with it" just doesn't seem reasonable or logical. If you want a fully tested and vetted version of 3CX, then wait for the production release. If you have suggestions for improvements, then share your ideas.
Somewhere around V18 SP7a 3CX started REQUIRING us to assign the SYSTEM OWNER rights to at least one extension. Clearly this was in preparation for eliminating the previous "admin" user approach in favor of assigning these rights to an extension (or several extensions). This is, in my opinion, an appropriate simplification of the 3CX code and allows them to leverage the new security measures already incorporated into extension passwords (hashed passwords). If you are surprised that the admin user is gone, then you have not been paying attention.
If you are having security issues, then login with one of the extensions you designated as a SYSTEM OWNER, and then assign the appropriate rights to the other extensions. If you are having trouble doing that, then we can discuss your specific challenges and see if we can offer some reasonable suggestions.
