LAN CONNECTION SPEED

PATTON SMARTNODE 4114 & NETGEAR DG834T ROUTER.

THERE IS AN AMBER LIGHT ON THE ROUTER AND THE 100M LIGHT ON THE SMARTNODE IS OFF, BOTH OF WHICH INDICATES CONNECTION AT REDUCED SPEEDS. DOES THIS EFFECT THE OPERATION TO ANY SIGNICANT DEGREE AND HOW TO CORRECT IT. MANY THANKS COLIN

Check the cable between the two devices and replace it so see if it is the problem.

You may be able to manually set the port speed on either the 4114 or the DG834T (or both) to 100M full duplex by using the web interface.

Fixed. port speed on Patton 4114 smartnode defaults to 10 m half duplex. many thanks
